Most brothers join SigEp as undergraduates, via an invitation extended by a local chapter. Undergraduates are asked to join if they subscribe to our cardinal principles of Virtue, Diligence and Brotherly Love, have a GPA above a 2.8, and are not already a member of another national fraternity. SigEp chapters only recruit the most talented undergraduates on campus—men who exhibit the qualities of the Balanced Man Ideal. View a list of campuses that have SigEp chapters.
Some men do not join a fraternity while they are in college, and realize later in life that they desire to be part of one. For these men, SigEp also has a Renaissance of Brotherhood program. Men over the age of 25, who have never joined a national fraternity, are eligible to become honorary brothers. This honor is typically bestowed on mentors or chapter volunteers within the community whom the chapter determines should share the bonds of our brotherhood.
