2008 Carlson Leadership Academy

To achieve SigEp's mission of Building Balanced Leaders for the World's Communities, the Fraternity needs resources. And our most important resources are the very people who make up our Fraternity. Expect to walk away from the Carlson Leadership Academy with hands-on training and goals for recruitment, retention, and chapter finances. Each officer in our Fraternity plays a role in each category.

  • Recruitment - The lifeblood of the Fraternity. Each chapter and its volunteers will assess the chapter's competitive position on campus, identify a target goal, and establish plans for the achievement of this goal. Emphasis will be placed on year-round recruiting programs and processes.
  • Retention - Manpower is also affected by the percentage of members who remain in the chapter throughout their four years in school. Each chapter and its volunteers will identify its retention measure and consider new ideas to engage chapter members. Four-year continuous development is the responsibility of ALL chapters. Programming based upon the Balanced Man Ideal of Sound Mind and Sound Body is our competitive advantage.
  • Finances - In order to recruit the best men and provide an exceptional experience, our chapters need resources and must manage those resources wisely. Emphasis will be placed on how to fund programs that will differentiate you on campus.
