Take advantage of volunteer training at the Carlson Leadership Academy

Beaux Carriere, Charleston ’10, Volunteer Services Director

SigEp is only as good as its volunteers. Our National Board, district governors and Headquarters staff all believe that providing chapter level volunteers with the best training and support is critical to the success of our Fraternity. That’s why for the second year in a row we are expanding the volunteer training program at our regional Carlson Leadership Academies.

Volunteer training at CLA is delivered by expert volunteers, industry professionals, and Headquarters staff on a range of topics that aim to meet the needs of every volunteer. The program is also designed to meet the varied interests and skill levels present on our AVCs.

Whether you want to be a better mentor or raise more money for your chapter, you will find sessions designed specifically for you. Want to better manage assets and the health of your AVC? We’ve got you covered too. For more information on the program sessions available at your chapter’s CLA, view our program highlights

Taking time from your family and work to attend your chapter’s program can be difficult. However, we believe that a weekend at CLA can save you hours if not days or weeks of frustration and false starts. This is truly a crash course in volunteering and one of the best opportunities to  get SigEp’s in-person training.

Each chapter has one pre-paid volunteer position. If that’s you, go ahead and register here.

After that spot is filled, each registration costs $150. This covers your materials, meals, snacks and refreshments throughout the program. For information on lodging, visit our FAQ page. If your AVC can help cover the cost, tell them you’ll bring everything you learn back to your chapter. If they aren’t sure it is worth the cost, give them my phone number and tell them to call me (804) 310-0029. If you are the AVC treasurer and can’t attend, try to free up some money to send a new volunteer. We promise, it will be worth it.

To prepare for CLA’s mentor-focused sessions, check out the recorded webinars hosted this past fall.
