Working with your Regional Director

Josh Hodnichak, Case Western Reserve '10, Chapter Services Director-West

With the fall comes the beginning of a new academic year, classes resuming, the return of college football, and of course, regional directors traveling chapter to chapter with their lives packed in their cars.

The regional directors started their fall travel mid-August, and they are excited to work with your chapter!  After nine weeks of intensive training in Richmond, they’re more prepared than any team in recent memory to help you impact your chapter.  In particular, the RDs received significantly more training on the Balanced Man Program to help you improve your chapter’s local membership experience.

Regional directors receive hours worth of training in the areas of recruitment, the membership experience, chapter leadership training and fiscal health. Your RD can help you:

  • Host a recruitment workshop
  • Establish chapter membership standards
  • Facilitate chapter or executive board goal setting workshops
  • Create or review chapter budgets

Check out the Regional Director Suite of Services* for a better understanding of exactly how RDs can provide education and training for your chapter.

Regional directors work to coordinate their visits with local volunteers as well.  Our volunteers are a crucial component of successful and sustainable chapters.  Work with your RD to identify workshops and activities that will help your chapter this fall.

This year we have twelve new regional directors traveling across the country.  If you haven’t met or spoken with your RD yet, take a minute to send him an email or give him a call to introduce yourself. And be sure to follow along with the RD Blog for more helpful information as well as peeks into what it’s like to live out of your car.

Good luck to you and your chapter this fall.  Good luck with your classes.  Good luck to your favorite college or professional football team.  And, don’t forget to invite your RD in out of his car; he’s excited to work with you!
