Have You Read...

 • What “Uncle Billy” Phillips wrote about friendship in the first issue? (Vol. 1 No. 1, p.2)

• The scathing editorial from 1909, criticizing the old guard national fraternities which, unlike Sigma Phi Epsilon, turned a deaf ear to a call for improvement from Stanford President David Starr Jordan? (Vol. 6 No. 4, p. 282)

• The 1910 primer on bookkeeping, revealing what day-to-day fraternity life was like a century ago, yet with lessons still useful today? (Vol. 8 No. 1, p. 1)

• A detailed explanation of how the SigEp coat of arms was designed and meaning of each of its parts? (Vol. 31 No. 2, p. 76)

• Advice on finding a job in 1973, another very difficult economic time? (Vol. 70 No. 4, p. 6)

Tips:

• While you can read comfortably with the online viewer and color PDF, you can often print more clearly with the black and white PDF.

• Use the Internet Archive search to find references to people, schools, chapters or keywords throughout the issue. The "advanced search" will let you limit your search to the SigEp Journals collection.

• A report of an event can be delayed. If you cannot find a story on an event, try the next issue and the one after that.
