Two scholarships available to attend UIFI
THE UNDERGRADUATE INTERFRATERNITY INSTITUTE IS A GREAT CHANCE TO ENHANCE LEADERSHIP SKILLS WITH GREEKS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY

SigEp is offering two scholarships for the 2012 Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute to be held at Indiana University this summer. Applications are due by February 29.

UIFI is a premier interfraternal leadership development experience for undergraduate fraternity and sorority members, and brings students together from across North America for an intensive five-day institute. The UIFI curriculum creates opportunities for participants to explore, define, and enhance their own leadership skills, personal awareness and their commitment to their fraternity or sorority. The experience then further challenges participants to grow to expect values based action from themselves as well as those they lead. As a result of UIFI, participants are given the skills to improve their own leadership abilities and positively affect their chapter, council and community.

Last year almost 30 SigEps attended the program as undergraduates, and several more SigEp alumni served as program faculty. Read more about the program on the NIC’s website.

“I thought it was an incredibly good program,” said Chandler Smith, Maine ’14, who attended last summer. “I came back from it feeling revitalized and remembering why I went to my Rituals. It made me realize that I really want to live my Rituals in my everyday life.”

To be considered for one of SigEp’s two scholarships, simply apply on the NIC website and select “SigEp Scholarship” as your funding source. Two brothers will be selected out of the pool and notified that they will receive funding. SigEps who are not selected for scholarships will be contacted and still encouraged to attend the conference at their own cost, which is $450.

“It’s a fantastic experience,” said Mike Slavin, West Chester ’13. “You’ll make a lot of great friends in five days and you’ll grow closer with them than you could ever imagine.”
