Sigma Phi Epsilon is committed to protecting your privacy. You can travel through most of our site without giving us any information about yourself. But sometimes, we need information to provide services you request, and this statement of policy explains data collection and use in those situations.
Information Collection and Use
We will ask for information that personally identifies you or allows us to contact you only in a few situations. Generally, this information is requested when you make an order through the online store, request a login for an on-line user account, or request further information.
When logging into the SigEp web site, a personal identification number is assigned and sent to your computer in the form of a small text file, called a “cookie.” The use of this “cookie” allows you to visit the password-restricted portions of SigEp’s website, for which you have security access without having to sign in again. Cookies are also used to track website trends and statistics.
Use of Your Personal Information
We use your personal information for three primary reasons:
- To make the site easier for you to use by not making you enter your login information more than once.
- To help us create and deliver content most relevant to you.
- To communicate special events and announcements, such as Carlson Leadership Academies, Conclave, and undergraduate and alumni news.
We occasionally contract with other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, including packaging, mailing, and delivery services. We will provide those companies only the information they need to deliver the service.
Control of your Personal Information
When you register or otherwise give us personal information, SigEp will not intentionally share that information with third parties without your permission, other than for the limited exceptions already listed above.
Security of Personal Information
SigEp strictly protects the security of your personal information and honors your choices for its intended use. We carefully protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Your personal information is never intentionally shared outside the organization without your permission, except under conditions explained above.
Changes to this Statement
SigEp will occasionally update this policy statement. When we do, we will also revise the “last updated” date at the bottom of the privacy statement.
