The Alumni and Volunteer Corporation (AVC) treasurer is responsible for all financial transactions and records of the corporation, including the annual budget. The treasurer also monitors the undergraduate chapter’s financial operations by working closely with the undergraduate vice president of finance. Finally, the treasurer ensures the proper financial management of the chapter house. Along with the vice president of housing, the treasurer is responsible for managing the assets of the AVC.
The priorities of the treasurer are to:
A great AVC treasurer has the ability to analyze financial data and make financial reports and forecasts. AVC treasurers should have experience in finance, accounting and budgeting, and should also be aware of state and IRS financial regulations. Experience in strategic planning and execution is an added benefit to this role.
