Who is covered on the general liability policy?
The insurance coverage will provide coverage for the following groups and/or people:
- Local undergraduate chapter when it obeys the laws of the institution, city, county, state and country in which it operates and follows the policies of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
- Chapter officers, executive committee, committee chairmen and members while performing duties for the Fraternity.
- Chapter’s alumni while they are performing the duties of the Alumni & Volunteer Corporation directors.
- Alumni and Volunteer Corporation and its members while performing duties on behalf of the Fraternity, i.e. Alumni Advisory Council, Alumni Assocation or Alumni and Volunteer Corporations, etc.
- The chapter counselor while performing the duties of his role as chapter counselor.
- The National Fraternity, its officers, staff members and appointed volunteers, while performing the services of their salaried or volunteer positions.
Who is not covered?
- Any individual member, alumni, trustee or advisor who is performing tasks outside of his responsibility (i.e. spontaneous social function planned by a member where risk management policies are not followed, chapter advisor/board member consuming alcohol with undergraduates, a fight between members, etc.)
- Any member who’s illegal or intentional actions result in property damage and/or death or injury to an individual.
- Member's parents or family members and guests of chapter members.
- College/university administration unless they have been approved for additional insured status.
