Worker’s compensation insurance

The Fraternity recommends that Alumni and Volunteer Corporations obtain worker’s compensation insurance which provides coverage for wages and medical benefits to employees injured in the course of employment in exchange for mandatory relinquishment of the employee's right to sue his or her employer for negligence.  This insurance must be purchased locally rather than through the Fraternity if the chapter or AVC hires employees.  Failing to secure coverage can result in significant penalties and fines.
