Executive officers must review these policies with the chapter counselor when they assume their position of responsibility. After you are familiar with these policies, you are responsible for reviewing the policies with the chapter membership. SigEp recommends a review at a chapter meeting at least once a semester. These policies should always be reviewed prior to hosting a chapter social event. By conducting these regular reviews, you are reinforcing the risk management mindset that will keep your chapter’s activities safe and sound over time because you and your brothers will use better judgment in every chapter decision.
Statement on Chapter and Individual Responsibility
These policies were adopted by the Grand Chapter in the mid-1990s.
This statement embodies the values and expectations of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. All undergraduates and volunteers are expected to abide by these policies as you conduct chapter activities.
Smart Event Planning Guidelines
These guidelines explain how to plan a chapter event with alcohol that is in compliance with SigEp's risk management policies. Use the Event Planning Checklist when planning an event to keep you on track.
These policies provide essential guidance on how to make smart choices to minimize risk and not put brothers, your chapter and the Fraternity in harm’s way.
Timely reporting of incidents as they occur is critical. Whenever a member or guest is injured at a chapter event or on chapter property, please complete the incident report form within 24 hours and send it to Kathy Johnston, Director of Risk Management.
