Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity

Vice president of member development

The vice president of member development is responsible for overseeing the chapter’s continuous development programming.  He has the opportunity to influence chapter life by providing programming that brothers want to participate in and adds value to their college experience.  He ensures that brothers stay involved with SigEp throughout their entire time as undergraduates, and that every brother has the opportunity for programming that will prepare him for life beyond college.

The top priorities of the vice president of member development are to:

  • Organize and manage the member development committee.
  • Oversee the chapter’s continuous development program.
  • Track members’ progress through the program.
  • Ensure the development program aligns with the desired chapter experience.
  • Encourage brothers to attend and participate in chapter functions.
  • Work with the vice president of programming to provide Sound Mind and Sound Body programming.
  • Set and work to achieve SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely).

A great vice president of member development is organized enough to keep track of the many stages or challenges that brothers are progressing through.  He is also a strong delegator, managing several challenge coordinators.  He also possesses the ability to hold members accountable to the development program.  He has an understanding of what programs or activities will be both fun and beneficial for his chapter brothers.

People that will assist or support the vice president of member development are:
