Dear brothers and friends,
For more than 113 years, SigEp has worked tirelessly to stay true to the promise that “this Fraternity will be different.” Throughout our history, we’ve helped colleges and universities fulfill their missions while serving as a valued partner in higher education. We’ve sought to provide solutions and lead change in the face of adversity, and today we are being called on to do this again.
Across the nation, campuses are fighting a battle against sexual assault. Our history tells us that we can be a part of the solution, and our Oath of Obligation compels us to take action.
SigEp chapters are already building awareness about this important issue. They are creating safe chapter environments and educating members about healthy relationships and confident intervention. Each year, more than 6,500 SigEps learn how to help prevent campus sexual assaults at EDGE and Carlson Leadership Academies.
Today, SigEp takes another historic step forward as a leader of this movement, this time alongside a new national partner: Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
Our shared goal is to empower more of our members to be leaders in the fight against campus sexual assaults. That means providing you and your chapter with better and more accessible education. As part of today’s partnership launch, SigEp and ADPi have released an educational video and website dedicated to giving you just that.
Today’s announcement is historic, but our fight to help end campus sexual assaults must start with you. Every SigEp is being called on to lead their campus on this important issue. That means doing what we said we would do when we joined this Fraternity: Live Our Oath.
I am excited to see the difference you’ll make on your campus as you show the world what we actually stand for.
Fraternally,
Phillip A. Cox
Grand President
